My A2 Media brief was:
'Candidates are to produce a promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video, together with a digipak for the album's release and a magazine advertisement for the digipak.'
I created a a promotional package for the release of an alternative rock album by 'the front bottoms'.
Please use the labels in the side bar to navigate through my portfolio.

Evaluation Q3
What have you learned from your audience feedback?
Throughout the project we have collected feedback from our Focus Group which was selected as a representative sample of the alternative rock genre audience. This has allowed us to fine tune our products in all stages using the feedback gained.
Research Stage
Audience Feedback was used to analyse existing media products of the Alternative Rock genre. This allowed us to grasp what stylistic choices our target audience was looking for, by reviewing what was received well.
Planning Stage
At this stage we presented our music video and ancillary task pitch with our 'initial ideas' presentation. This lead to us redrafting our storyboard and creating a website rather than a promotional poster as this was more appealing. We also changed our album cover ancillary several times based off of audience feedback. We were surprised to find that the performance element not being a big aspect of the music video was appreciated as 'performance' was a largely common feature among the alt rock music videos.
Construction
During Construction of our music video we created a couple of drafts before finalising the video. This lead to several re-shoots and a few new shot ideas.
Post-Production
In order to gain knowledge from our target audience, I selected a few members from our focus group and emailed them with questions to prepare for an interview about our final products:

Evaluation Q1
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and
conventions of real media products?
Evaluation Q2
How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
I have created a Prezi slideshow, taking images from all three ancillaries to demonstrate visually ways the products cross promote each-other.
Researching other artist's products demonstrated the importance for band's products to coordinate as it was often noted by our focus group and as these bands are successful, due to perhaps combining their products through synergy. From audience feedback and comparing our products with RMA research, I believe we have used synergy effectively to coordinate and cross promote all three ancillaries.
