TRANSITION RECREATION
Our first task was to attempt to recreate an effective transition from the music video 'everyone's waiting' by Missy Higgins. We used a Canon DSLR Camera and Adobe Premiere Pro Software for Post Production.
Probably the biggest problem was timing, especially when it came to lip sinking as 99% of the footage was out of sync. To resolve this in post production we made sure to utilise the razor tool and slow down the speed duration where needed. This was effective for timing but I feel it made our footage look less professional and more out of focus.
Another editing tool we utilised was colour correction for our last shot to make it darker, this helped mirror the original video.
By using shallow depth of field it helped us focus on our singer and resinate with the original video, which also fit with the natural setting for background.
The last improvement I would make when filming is to use a tripod for the pan shot to create steadier camera movement and also have a quicker manual focus. Overall I think the task has demonstrated that a professional look is achievable with limited budget/ resources.
